"El Famoso Paro Agrario" Colombia

"El Famoso Paro Agrario"

February, 2013: Colombia
During this date, Colombian citizens suffered a political event which brought many social, economical, and political disturbs. The whole country was affected by the protests developed in the whole country. The main problem was caused by the government because they circumstances of trade and imports were affecting the local rural producers of resources.

The economic circumstances for the workers in the rural areas were getting worst every instance. Its like working every day, every hour and giving all the daily energy, get home and have an empty fridge. What i'm trying to express with this example, is to highlight the bad conditions that the workers are passing by. It was not only the workers affected in one area of the country, but workers in every sector of the agronomy of the country.

Sometimes, the government focus only in some sectors of the economy, in Colombia the "TLC" free tax trade with Europe and N. America. That brings innovation to the country, that brings new industry products, but it also brings bad consequences. The local producers were being devastated by the poor working, living, earning conditions. In most of the occasions, when people try to protest peacefully and they are not being listened by the government, they accede to "violent" protests.

In Colombia, the protests were extending a little bit longer than planned. Juan Manuel Santos, the current president of Colombia mentioned to de press "The protests, does not exists." The previos quote took directly from RCN, turned things to be a lottle more aggressive. The protestants assumed that their petitions were not being taken in count. The protestants applied harsh actions such as, blocking ways, burning wheels, cars, kidnapping policeman in a peaceful way. The previos actions generated more attention of the government, and acted. They gave better solutions to the workers, in order to fill their expectations and have an organised economy, balanced social behaviour and a much more approved government.
